A community champion who works closely with Salford City Council has been awarded an MBE.
Isaac Ginsbury who leads The Jewel Foundation was awarded the prestigious Member of the British Empire in the King’s Birthday honours.
The Jewel Foundation is an employment support service which was created to support the local Jewish community find employment and training routes to employment.
Isaac moved to Manchester in 2007 and has been involved with community projects and employment support since then.
Councillor John Merry, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Health, at Salford City Council said:
“A huge congratulations goes to Isaac on being awarded the MBE. The Jewel foundation has been working with us here at Salford City Council since 2011. The council commissions his service through Children’s Services to deliver advice and support and training around employment across Salford and Bury.
“Isaac is so passionate about helping local people and helping them to achieve their full potential. He totally deserves this award for being a voice for the community and working with them to provide support, guidance and vital links to public services so they can succeed.
“In addition Isaac is also a long serving member of the Salford Orthodox Jewish Forum and an active advocate for the Jewish community across both Salford and Bury.”
