5-year-old boy injured in a collision in seedley

Police were called to Southern Street in Seedley at around 6:45pm yesterday (27th June) following reports of a 5-year-old child having been involved in a collision with a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to assist the police with the investigation.

Police cordoned off the area at the time but it has been lifted since.

There have been no arrests made and the forces serious collision investigation unit has appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to step forward.

Greater Manchester Police, said:

“At 6:45pm yesterday (Thursday 27 June), we were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Southern Street Street between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

“A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital for further treatment. His injuries are believed to be life changing. The vehicle remained at the scene to assist with enquiries. No arrests have been made at this stage.

“Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.”
